Among his other most notable achievements, Santanu has been awarded prestigious ANANDOLOK AWARD as the Best Playback Singer for the TV serial HASULI BANKER UPAKATHA in the year 1998 by Ananda Bazar Patrika.
MOTHER TERESSA INTERNATIONAL AWARD
In the year 2014, he was bestowed with a very highly prestigious award MOTHER TERESA INTERNATIONAL AWARD presented by the Mother Teresa International Award Committee for his outstanding contribution in music. SANGEET SAMMAN
More recently in February 2015, the Government of West Bengal bestowed upon him the coveted SANGEET SAMMAN award.
GOVERNOR'S EXCELLENCE AWARD
On November 1, 2023, Santanu was honoured with the Governor's Excellence Award by the esteemed Governor of West Bengal, CV Ananda Bose, in recognition of his outstanding contributions, unwavering dedication, creative achievements, and exemplary performance in various field of Indian music.
As a cultural ambassador Santanu Roychoudhury has been officially invited to participate in an international artist delegation to Yunnan, China this June. The invitation comes from the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Kolkata, recognizing his contribution to Indian music and his role in fostering intercultural harmony.
Scheduled for the third week of June 2025, this cultural tour marked a significant chapter in Santanu’s journey of sharing the emotional depth of Bengali and Indian music with the Global community. Known for his soulful interpretations of Rabindra Sangeet, classical compositions, and transcreations in multiple languages, Santanu’s music has long celebrated unity in diversity.
This tour aimed to provide a platform for:
Celebrating shared artistic achievements between China and India
Exploring avenues for future cultural collaborations
Strengthening educational and emotional ties through the arts
Having previously performed at global venues including UNESCO, Paris, and the ASEAN-India Cultural Conference in Jakarta, Santanu’s invitation to Yunnan was yet another testimony to his growing international relevance. His presence not only represents Indian musical heritage but also reflects his continuing effort to promote peace, dialogue, and artistic exchange.
Santanu received a warm and gracious welcome at several distinguished cultural and educational institutions in Yunnan, including Yunnan Arts University, Yunnan Ethnic Village, The Yunnan Arts and Literature Museum, Dali University, Museum, and Art Village, The China Kunming Export Fair and China-South Asia Exposition.
He presented transcreations of Rabindra Sangeet in both Hindi and English, skillfully bridging linguistic and cultural boundaries through his performance. He was also honored with the prestigious opportunity to deliver a keynote address outlining the blueprint for Indo-China cultural exchange.
The delegation was sponsored with full international travel support, local hospitality, and transportation in Yunnan, underscoring the warm diplomatic and artistic relationship being nurtured.
